My 5-year-old boy used a swing all by himself! In the past, he tried many times ending in frustration. The only way to keep moving was when mama gave him a push. And it was a joy to help him. I knew he could do it. I just wished he believed too.
As I saw my boy smiling at his accomplishment, I couldn’t help but hear God, as our Papa, reminding me that He too pushes us in life – toward our purpose. He provides that first push to get us going. He delights when we ask Him for help.
And so, He provides the first push and waits for us to keep the movement going. But when fear and insecurity kick in, inertia takes over.
But there is good news. When we lack faith in believing “we can,” He believes in us. He sees the real us – full of potential. He never gives up on us.
It’s up to us how high we want to go. Some of us like to play it safe and keep the swing low because we’re afraid of heights. While others enjoy the sensation you get in your belly as you swing up high. What a rush! We have to decide how high we want to go.
Let me tell you that once he got going, he extended his little feet upward and downward with all his might. Then, he began using his upper body strength. All of a sudden, he began to soar. And he giggled. And he smiled. Joy replaced all his frustration.
And that, warrior, is how Papa wants to see you. He wants you to experience a deep joy that makes you giggle and feel all warm inside. Yes, just like a child.
Beloved, we must keep the momentum. Remember, for movement to continue, cooperation is required. He has given you all you need to succeed. Use the force. Yes, use the power that is in you. That same power that raised Jesus from the grave is in you (Romans 8:11). You’ve got the power. Use it wisely.
How high are you willing to soar? He knows you can go high. Just enjoy the ride.

Remember, you’ve got a fire within. Fan the flame, shine bright and live fearlessly. For God did not give you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Fan the flame! 🔥
